Villa Soroa

Esta rehabilitación toma como base el conjunto denominado Villa Soroa, compuesto por el edificio original construido a principios del siglo XX, ampliado posteriormente en los años 50, y los restos de un gran jardín perimetral parcialmente asfaltado y convertido en aparcamiento.

El edificio consta de planta semisótano, baja y dos plantas altas. Su planta original es un cuadrado de 20 x 20 metros, dividido en tres crujías en cada sentido, con la crujía sur añadida posteriormente. El sistema constructivo del edificio original, con muros de carga de piedra, se ha mantenido íntegramente siendo protagonista en la conformación de los espacios interiores.

El nuevo uso docente ha requerido de una transformación sustancial para permitir las comunicaciones entre los diferentes usos y usuarios. Conseguir espacios fluidos y flexibles en un entorno inicialmente hermético ha sido el reto principal, donde pequeñas intervenciones permiten nuevas relaciones antes imposibles. Finalmente el aprovechamiento máximo de la escasa luz natural existente inicialmente ha convertido el interior en una gran plaza.

Eraberritze lan honek XX. mende hasieran eraikitako Villa Soroa eraikina du abiapuntu, 50. hamarkadan egindako gehigarria eta dena inguratzen duen antzinako lorategiaren arrastoa aparkaleku bihurtuta.

Erdi-sotoa, behe oina eta bi solairuk osatzen dute eraikina. jatorrizko  oina 20×20  metroko aldea duen karratu bat da, hiru hormarte alde bakoitzera dituela,  eta geroago gehitutako ego-aldeko pieza. Erailtzeko sistemaren harrizko karga hormak mantendu dira, eta hauek dira neurri handi batean espazio definitzen dutenak.

Erabiltzaileak eta erabilera ezberdinen komunikazioak bermatzeko transformazio garrantzitsuak egitera behartu gaitu. Edukiontzi hermetiko batean espazio malguak eta errazak lortzea izan da erronka handiena, non interbentzio txikiak eta puntualak lortu dute barne-erlazio berriak bermatzea.

Eraikinak uzten duen argi eskasari ahalik eta aprobetxamendu handiena ateratzeak lagundu digu barnealdea plaza berezi batean bihurtzea.

This refurbishment is based on the complex called Villa Soroa, consisting of the original building built at the beginning of the 20th century, later expanded in the 50’s, in a partially asphalted garden perimeter environment even turned into parking.

The building is composed by ground floor, basement and two floors high. Its original plant is a square grid of 20 x 20 sqm, divided into three spans in each direction, with the south vain added later. The construction system of the original building, with stone walls, has wholly remained, being the protagonist in the conformation of the interior spaces.

The new education use has required a substantial transformation to allow communication between different uses and users. Providing fluid and flexible spaces in an initially hermetic environment has been the main challenge, where small interventions now allow new relationships, impossible before. Finally, the maximum use of the limited initially existing natural light has turned the interior into a large square.
